Cooper's 4 month appointment

Cooper had his 4 month check-up with Dr. Warren last Thursday. Chris took him because I had a court appearance for work. He is doing well - 17 lbs. 4 oz. (79th percentile) and 26 inches (88th) percentile. Dr. Warren said we can start him on solids, but I don't know if I'm ready for that yet! Chris also got lots of compliments for taking 2 kids to the pediatrician's office by himself!

Lucky

Today we saw two UPS trucks on the way home. After pointing out the second one, Jack said "Mommy, we are so lucky." And he was right, for so many reasons beyond the UPS truck sightings.

Disneyland!

Today we took the boys to Disneyland (Cooper's 3rd visit) and had a great time. Jack loves riding all the trains.

And a few of Cooper from yesterday because he is so cute and smiley now. He laughs and laughs and then gets the hiccups and gets mad.

Happy boy!

Cooper Joseph

Cooper Joseph was born on January 7, 2009. He was 8 lbs. 1 oz. and 19 inches and absolutely beautiful. That's when I intended to start this blog, so I though I should document the event now.

I first went into labor with Cooper on December 18, 2008 at 35.5 weeks. I was already 4 cm dilated so Dr. Cropper put me in the hospital overnight and the contractions were stopped. The let me out on bedrest until 37 weeks (including my birthday and Christmas), when we began trying everything to get him out - we really wanted a New Years Eve baby! By January 6, at 38 weeks, I was 5 cm dilated and having lots of non-painful contractions. Dr. Cropper stripped me membranes that morning and we took Jack miniature golfing, to the bookstore and to dinner. By 8:00 p.m. Jack was in bed and the contractions were getting painful, so we called my mom to watch Jack and went to the hospital. I was admitted around 9 and got an epidural around 11, but never got past 6 cm. At 5:30 a.m, Dr. Cropper broke my water and 1.5 hours later I was fully dilated. I pushed 3 times and he was born at 7:14 am, crying loudly. He kept crying until we eventually gave him some formula - he was hungry from the very beginning and hasn't stopped eating since.

Jack loved him from the very beginning and has not had any jealosy issues (so far). He loves to sing to Cooper and help feed him, and is always putting trains in Cooper's carseat for him to play with.

As soon as I saw him, I knew our family was complete. I've loved every crazy day since.

Testing ...

Finally getting around to starting this blog because I want to document the boys' childhoods for posterity ...
